Honduras
I visited Honduras in 2005, to celebrate both the launch of CAFOD's Unearth Justice campaign and the re-launch of our Honduran partners' mining campaign, which they had been working on since 2003. In Spanish, "Unearth Justice" is "Desenterrando la Justicia", which just sounds awesome.
I've done a bit of international campaigning before, but primarily through conferences so it was unusual for me to be hosted by a single organisation and welcomed into their work. It was fantastic to meet our partners and get a feel for their campaigning. One of the nice things is that campaigning is roughly the same all over the world - even down to the action cards and the pizza after a long day! In addition to representing the campaigns team at the press launch, I visited one of the local universities, a seminary (an interesting experience; I didn't expect so many of them to be leering at me), and two of the local communities near the mine we are campaigning against.
